PERFORMER
As a concert artist and multi-instrumentalist, Jim performs on piano and rare historic instruments. Jim’s piano concerts are known for his passionate arrangements of movie themes and the performances of his own works. Jim is a specialist in rare historic string instruments and features these in his concerts.
Jim offers his concerts on a variety of instruments, including piano, harpsichord, clavichord, nyckelharpa
and hurdy gurdy.
Jim is fully dedicated to giving the absolute best he can give in each concert. Jim always states, "It is not enough for me to play pleasing pieces. Every note has to be electric, exciting and inspiring. I play every note, every piece, as though it were my last. And I'll go to any length to make sure my audiences are moved and most of all, have fun!"
LECTURER
Jim Kendros is known to audiences as "The North Shore's Favorite Music Historian." Jim is the Speaker for the acclaimed Music Salon of Elgin. Jim also presents music appreciation classes for a variety of senior facilities, libraries and community centers.
Offering a wide variety of engaging topics, Jim's lectures are dynamic, highly informative, uplifting and entertaining!
The Solstice Chamber Orchestra
Jim is forming the Solstice Chamber Orchestra, a select ensemble of 13 to 15 hand-picked musicians Jim admires. Leading this talented group as Artistic Director, each concert will feature lively and expressive selections with a wide variety of musical genres. Stay tuned for more updates!
